México, Guerrero, San Luis Acatlán, PUEBLO: Yoloxóchitl; LOCALIDAD EXACTA: Caminando desde Yoloxóchitl hacia el oeste, hacia San Luis Acatlán. A 350 m sobre la carretera hay una desviación hacia el norte, una brecha que se convierte en una vereda hacia Cerro Santo, después 325 m más sobre esta ruta. Desde este último punto, 500 m más sobre la misma ruta.

In his email of 27 Oct. 2010, Tom Daniel mentioned: "The Ruellia looks like it might be R. squarrosa (Fenzl) Cufodontis ex E. Walker, a name that I placed into synonymy with R. longepetiolata (Oerst.) Hemsl. (which may have taken lumping of names a little too far, but which needs additional studies to determine whether there are any differences between these taxa). If this is the entity called R. squarrosa, and if from a native locale (it is often cultivated), it might be very helpful in making such a determination. "
