VEGETACIÓN y HÁBITAT: Secundaria de bosque tropical subcaducifolio
Tallo hueco, cuadrado. Árbol mediano, 4-4 metros, flores moradas en racimo, los frutos son pequeños. Este fue el árbol sobre que se colecto el Homalodisca ichthyocaphala.

In her email of 1 June 2011, Lesley Walsingham stated: "Hi Jonathan Suddenly realised that this is Citharexylum,(Verbenaceae), I think probably Citharexylum affine D.Don, after a quick look in cupboards, should be able to confirm species, but happy it is Citharexylum."
